AMAZING!


Our son, Garrett, recently caught "Horse Fever". I get it ever now and then and sometimes it is hard to shake! When we lived in Texas and our boys were fairly young, we had a few horses off and on. We have not had any in a long time. This all came about when he started working at a horse boarding stable as of a few weeks ago. It has been the perfect fit for him and fell in his lap. He has talked about working somewhere like this all summer. I am proud to say he recognizes the hand of God in his life and gave Christ the credit for his new fortune. For the last two weeks he has talked about a horse as if we had already given in to his pleading. Early yesterday morning I ask my husband, who was leaving the state for business, what I was to tell him when he ask again today. ”In about seventeen months he is going to need a truck not a horse, tell him to pray about it”, was his answer. I relayed the message to our son. After his school work was completed he went to work. He called that very afternoon to tell me that he was GIVEN a horse,by a lady he had never met! I was skeptical at first. Oh ye of little faith I am sometime. However, I don't want his heart broken, so as his Mom I stood reserved a bit. This morning, I went with him to see this gift. She has his personality! She is a bit head strong. I watched him ride her, then I tried her out. My son is in love to say the least. This afternoon he met the lady that gave him the horse. She was so thankful to have found a great companion to take her. We found out her name and about how old she is. She needs allot of work, but she is his. So it has been confirmed in spite of my own doubt. My son has a horse and he knows how she truly became his very own.

A new season for me. School started on Aug. 22nd. Our oldest, Tanner, moved to his college dorm after 12 years of home schooling. Our youngest is going to public school this year, he is a freshman. Actually, he was to be a sophomore but Texas, which I forgot, is a bit tougher on home schoolers entering the system and would not accept his freshman homeschool credits. It’s happening! God is on the move again! After a season of country living in Texas we are going back to Colorado. We are excited to say the least. This time we will be bringing four horses with us. It will be a blast to ride them in the foothills of beautiful Colorado.I will be so happy to be back in civilization! No more Texas sized grasshoppers waiting for me to take a walk in order to dive bomb me! My car will stay clean (well till it snows). I love Texas because it is in my blood but I love Colorado because it’s just so lovable! It’s a mixture of the old west, urban living, mountains, foothills and plains. Working Myself Out of a Job

As mothers our goal should be to work ourselves out of a job. Depending on personalities and gifs it happens at different ages. With our two boys, it is happening at the same time. One is 17 and the other is 14. I will be out of a job faster than I thought and am feeling it! Heart strings and apron strings must be connected! With every loosening of the apron strings I feel the pull in my heart. The last two years I have been learning how to let go of the little boy we have and let him grow into a young man. Now our younger one is following suit. I really struggled the first year I felt this happening. What a roller coaster of emotions. I have to continually remind myself that this is not about me it is about them. What I have learned in the last two years is to trust.
